Culture Media and Sport Questions

Culture Secretary Maria Miller has refused to commit to cross-party talks on monopoly media ownership.

Pressed by Labour's Harriet Harman during Culture, Media and Sport Questions on 20 June 2013, she said that Lord Justice Leveson said his inquiry had not had time to deal with the issue in detail.

Ms Harman said the issue of media ownership needed to be tackled as it was a feature of the Leveson inquiry that has not yet been dealt with.

But Ms Miller replied that the government would be "seeking views" on the issue in the summer rather than having more political discussion.
