MEPs debate the outcomes of the European Council summit


On 2 July 2014, MEPs debated the outcomes of the European Council summit, which saw EU leaders nominate Jean-Claude Juncker as the next European Commission president.

The debate was opened by a statement by the European Council president, Herman van Rompuy.

MEPs then moved on to a debate assessing the outcomes of the Greek presidency of the EU.

Finally MEPs voted to appoint the five quaestors of the European Parliament.
