Constitutional wrangling over the future of the UK's relationship with the EU

Academics and politicians discussed the future status of the UK within the European Union in a panel discussion at London's Europe House.

The UK joined the European Union 40 years ago, but a bill is currently going through Westminster that could pave the way for a referendum on whether the UK should remain in the bloc.

Participants in the discussion were:

  • Dr Andrew Blick, Institute of Contemporary British History
  • Bill Cash, Conservative MP and chair of the House of Commons' European Scrutiny Committee
  • Mary Honeyball, Labour MEP
  • Sarah Ludford, Liberal Democrat MEP.
