22 year old Brummy boy Kalvin lives at home with his mum and his 13 year old brother. He works part-time as a dancer in a Birmingham cabaret bar and teaches dance at local primary schools. He's a self-confessed mummy's boy and describes himself as "fun-loving, hardworking, and dynamite on the dance floor!" He's currently single.

Kalvin only started dancing at the age of 15. Although dance was something he'd always wanted to get into, he felt dance wasn't a laddy thing to do. It was only at 15 when some girl friends invited him along to a free style disco class that he decided to give it a go.

Since then he's never looked back and over the past seven years Kalvin has won a staggering total of more than 200 disco dancing championships.

At 19, he was awarded a scholarship to study dance at Bodywork in Cambridge. But after the first year, left to join the prestigious Italia Conti school in London. He found it difficult to make ends meet and had to travel back to Birmingham every weekend to earn extra money dancing at a city nightclub.

The only thing that scares Kalvin about the live shows of DanceX is the singing. "When I was at college we had singing lessons as a class but I used to hate it and always mimed. I'm not going to be able to get away with that on TV though!"

Ok so its a dance competition, there wasnt alot of dance and as for the vocals, not just Kalvin but all contestants, seriously think of the prize supporting a big artist with an even bigger stage show, I appreciate this is a dream come true for them however the winners will be on stage and if saturday is anything to go by, getting boo'd off is a possibility, Arlene and Bruno need to use there professionalism to really tighten the contestants up there own career judgements are on the line with this programme. its about forming a group of talent at the moment I am not seeing it.I look forwards to being proven wrong

Funny I do not remember half the successful dancers shown here, sing, or dance on thier own or even have a one to one TV interview on the first programme. Plenty of footage on the ones that went out, you did not even reveal all the names until the end after they got through.. I look forward to watching them sing and dance. I just feel sorry for the rest of the fodder that got so far and some of the good performers thinking they had a chance.
