The view
is of Stonethwaite Valley showing Stonethwaite Fell and Bull Crag.
The large outcrop to the right is Eagle Crag.
The
path running from the bottom of the picture is part of the Coast
to Coast, C2C, walking route.
This
walk, devised by Alfred Wainwright, the well known walker and writer,
crosses three National Parks and through some of England's finest
scenery.
Starting
beside the Irish Sea at St. Bees, you walk through the mountains
of the Lake District, across the Pennines and down to the village
of Robin Hood's Bay on the East coast, a total distance of 190 miles.
