The
Tower Bank Arms at Near Sawrey is possibly the most photographed
pub in the world as it is featured in Beatrix Potter's Tales of
Jemima Puddleduck.
The pub was named after the local estate which was the Tower Bank
Estate, the estate owner did not like the pubs name which at the
time was called the Blue Pig.
The pub was also known as the Albion when it was built.
The name is unique as there is no other Tower Bank Arms in the world.
The picture was taken in the summer of 2003 by Andrew Broadley who
is the manager of the Tower Bank Arms.
