Ghost
Ads - the remnants of adverts, long forgotten, but still visible
to all. Usually they are found on walls high above the eye-line
of most people - and that's why they are still there. They can be
found all over the world (take a look at James
Lileks' website for American ghost ads) but here we'll concentrate
on the ghost ads found in Cumbria.
An
advert for a dye works in Carlisle's Castle Street. The building
it's painted on is now part of the University of Northumbria.
