The
tour starts at the Coniston lakeside. Take the boat over to
Brantwood.
At
Brantwood look around at the magnificent scenery. Then go
to look at the house.
You
enter first into the main hallway. Here you can see the bathchair
that Ruskin used in the later years of his life.
If
you go into the lounge you can see Ruskin's piano - and if
you visit Brantwood, you'll have the chance to play it too.
In
the study there are cases of different collections made by
Ruskin, and now displayed for all to see.
In
the dining room, imagine the conversations that would have
been held here. With friends such as Charles Darwin, there
would have been some wonderful tales told.
At
the end of the dining room, take a look at the view acoss
the lake.
Upstairs
go to Ruskin's bed room, which used to be covered with paintings
by Turner
