The third leg of the BBC Radio Cumbria "Health, Wealth and Happiness Tour" is arriving in South Cumbria very soon.

The whole idea is to help you make the best of life. Are you the healthiest you can be, are you making the most of your money and are you enjoying life as much as you possibly can? 

We've already had two hugely successful events in North and West Cumbria.

The third event this year is at Forum 28 in Barrow on Saturday 12th September between 10am and 3pm and it's completely free!!

Health

Staff from the NHS will be offering blood pressure checks and diabetes blood checks.

If you're a smoker they have a machine to show you what shape your lungs are in and advice on how to stop smoking.

They'll also be able to tell you, in a friendly way, if you need to lose a few pounds and the best ways of doing that!

There'll also be alternative therapists offering a taster in massage and giving advice and information on a whole range of alternative and complementary therapies.

Wealth

Staff from Age Concern will be on hand with information about their services including how they can help with benefits advice.

Staff from Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs will be there to advise on tax credits and pension credits.

Consumer Direct will also be there to help you if you've got problems with faulty goods or bad service.

Happiness

BBC Radio Cumbria regular John Crouch will be running cookery demos throughout the day plus two of our regular gardening experts Ian Corri and Stuart Murfitt will host a short hanging basket planting demonstration, then answer all your questions in our mini-gardeners' question times.

Make-up artist Lisa Jayne Timpson - a regular on Liz Rhodes' show - will also be on hand with advice and tips

Plus Forum 28 regular Jason Parkinson will be showing off his dancing skills and demonstrating a range of dance styles. You can join if you like or just sit and watch.

Are you looking for a new hobby? We'll have experts demonstrating card making, and jewellery design, amongst other things, to whet your appetite. Plus staff from Adult Education will be there to tempt you with a whole range of other courses. And the local Sports Partnership will also be there with information on the best ways for you to get fit locally.

There's also going to be advice on researching your family tree, the imminent digital TV switchover and how to get the best out of your digital or video camera.
