School Report diary 2

Read Toby's diary from her day working on BBC School Report 2008 ...

Today we are taking part in the BBC School Reporter’s day.

8:55

I arrived at our newsroom, Mr Connolly gave a quick talk on what we would be doing.

9:20

Me and Beth planned for our interview with Huw Edwards and discussed questions we would ask him.

Beth came up with questions and I ate a Cadbury bar.

I spent the next few minutes contemplating how lucky I was to be here eating dairy milk and not in maths.

10:20

I finished my questions and my dairy milk and started my script.

11:15

I finished my script and started my diary and enjoyed a packet of crisps and a fruit smoothie, we prepared for our interview with Huw Edwards.

11:35

We came out to the BBC car and talked to Huw, we asked him about all kinds of things including his favourite tie witch is blue with red spots, he makes mistakes daily but his worst is when the video link to somebody doesn’t come up and he spends ages waiting for it.

He enjoys playing the piano and always goes on TV wearing make up so he doesn’t look really pale.

I really enjoyed the interview.

12:00

I had lunch, cheese baguette and a drink and had half an hour off the job to mess about outside

12:40

I came back to do more work on this diary and heard that Charlotte had had an interview with Paul Mooney and Francis interviewed the manager of Carlisle United.

1:15

After a refreshing smoothie I came back to the news room to find that we had nearly finished, I sent emails to my mates telling them how unlucky they were to be in French.

1:35

Only half an hour left I’m nearly finished and I’ve got a concert rehearsal with my trumpet  in an hour.
