Windermere Airshow 2007

The skies above Windermere are set to be filled with aircraft of all descriptions for the seventh Windermere Airshow.

The annual event, held on the Glebe in Bowness on Windermere is expected to raise £20 000 for local charities.

Events in the sky include

  • Flying displays by RAF Eurofighter Typhoon
  • Tucano and the Hawk aircraft
  • Sea King Search and Rescue Helicopter
  • Red Arrows aerobatic display team on Sunday 29th July.

  • falconry displays
  • military vehicles
  • flight simulator and much more.

All proceeds from the show will be donated to charity, and this year the Windermere Rotary Club will be supporting The Great North Air Ambulance and the Cumbrian branch of the British Diabetic Association along with other local charities.

Admission

Access to the Glebe is free.

A souvenir programme for £5 will give you access to the entertainment arena over two days.

Programmes are available from the local Tourist Information Centres in Windermere (Tel. 015394-46499) and Bowness (Tel. 015394-42895) and will also be available on both days from several locations on the Glebe and around Bowness.

Car parking

It's advisable to follow Rotary Club parking signs as 20 000 visitors are expected over the weekend.
