Derek, who is based near Penrith, recently had a painting short-listed for the Celeste Art Prize, which is run by Goldsmiths College of Art in London.

About the painting

Derek’s painting is a called ‘A capriccio of the City of London on the Shores of Ullswater’, and follows in the tradition of Canaletto in the 1740’s who took classical Venetian buildings and placed them in different and sometimes absurd settings.
