Macaws are large colourful birds very common in the jungles of South America. And apparently they're quite common in the skies around Kirby Stephen in Cumbria too! On sunny days as many as 20 Macaws and other exotic birds, can be seen flying about the upper Eden valley. But on gloomy days they get no further than John Strutts' garden, where they were bred and set free. For North Country this week Paul Paxton got up very early, to witness a very noisy dawn chorus.
