Lakeland Limited in Windermere has been judged by The Civic Trust as one of the best new buildings to open in the UK (March 2007). The awards acknowledge the UK-wide success in new build, renovation, or regeneration of both public and privately-owned buildings, as well as landscaping and public spaces. Winning schemes highlight the positive impact that the built environment has on local communities. The Lakeland Limited building at Station Precinct in Windermere, has been described by the Civic Trust judges as “An attractive and successful project which combines exciting and contemporary design with the building’s location in the historic and rural setting of the Lake District.”
