The tall ship, Grand Turk, arrived in Silloth to berth at the port's New Dock. The ship was open to the public,  before setting sail for Belfast.

This was a chance for visitors to view the intricacies of a fully rigged man-of-war and to explore the living quarters and gun decks below decks.

Grand Turk, built in 1997, is a true replica of the British 6th-rate frigate Blanford, of 1795.
With a crew of 28, she weighs approximately 750 tonnes, has an overall length of 43 metres, a beam of 10.2 metres and a draught of 3.3 metres.
Supporting her three masts and numerous sails are nine-and-a-half miles of rigging.

Following her visit to Silloth last year, during which she was dressed to replicate HMS Bounty, she then sailed to Portsmouth where she took the major role of Nelson's flagship, HMS Victory, at the "Trafalgar 200" celebrations.
