AISHA

I never - honestly, I never.

CAROL You never did? Not once.
AISHA Not once.
CAROL I. I just don't understand it - I was sure it had to be you.
AISHA

(V/O) Here, I admit, I was lucky - lucky that she was so easily fooled, lucky that  turning on the old waterworks seemed to do its usual trick, and, above all, lucky that she chose to confront me at just the moment I most needed an alibi. Very lucky indeed.

Scene 4 - Ext. Day - THE HIGH STREET

HE IS INTERRUPTED BY A MASSIVE EXPLOSION - AFTER WHICH, ALL IS QUIET (PERHAPS DISTANT SIRENS CAN BE HEARD).THEN AN EERIE SILENCE

Scene 5 - Int Night - AISHA'S CAR (MOVING)

AISHA IS DRIVING: DAVE IS HIDING UNDER A BLANKET IN THE BACK-SEAT. THE CAR RADIO IS QUIETLY ON, TUNED TO SOME OLDIES STATION PLAYING 'SEASONS IN THE SUN' BY TERRY JACKS.

DAVE

Has it gone, then?

AISHA Yeah. I think so. Yes.
DAVE

Are you sure? We can't afford to take chances. If anyone sees where we're going, we're done for.

AISHA

You're done for. I can always say you forced me to drive
yo...

DAVE (INTERRUPTING) You wouldn't. You wouldn't dare.
AISHA (V/O) It was then I knew I'd won. Game over, pack the pieces away, I had won.
