Both Folk at the Wheatsheaf and Embleton Live are being replaced by Folk in the Barn.
From June, folk music in West Cumbria can be heard on alternate Fridays at Rosehill Barn, Rosehill Theatre, Whitehaven. The full programme to date is shown below.

Folk in the Barn is held in Rosehill Barn, Rosehill Theatre, Whitehaven, on alternate Fridays. Concerts in the Theatre can be booked through Rosehill Theatre box office on 01946 692422/694039

22nd, 23rd and 24th July 2005. One of the largest Folk and Roots Weekend Festivals in the country. Running since 1995, it's had some big names over the years including Suzanne Vega and The Levellers. Booking Office  -  01228 534664

The Annual Furness Tradition Festival

This takes place in Ulverston over three days 15th/16th/17th July 2005. Expect concerts, street events and singalongs. 01229 582704 for tickets.

Solfest

Well received in 2004, Solfest is held in Silloth on Bank Holiday Weekend - 26th-28th August. Already confirmed for this year the charmingly named Peatbog Fairies, as well as Glentillbrook and The Popes.

Maryport Bitter and Blues Festival

29th-31st July.  Headliners are enough to make a true folk/blues fan's mouth water.  James Cotton, Pinetop Perkins and Hubert Sumlin are just three of the names confirmed. Tickets from info@maryportblues.com or The Festival office 01900 817200.
