The Simpsons | Episode Guide | Season Eight
The Twisted World of Marge Simpson

Greed is good in the fast-paced world of housewife investors.

Episode 4F08
Written by Jennifer Crittenden
Directed by Chuck Sheetz
Also starring: Tress MacNeille, Maggie Roswell
Special guest voices: Marcia Wallace (as Ms Krabappel), Joe Mantegna (as Don Tony), Jack Lemmon (as Frank)

Premise: Kicked out of the Ladies' Investorettes' Franchise Circle, Marge sets up a pretzel business, but Ms Krabappel and the others fight back. In a desperate bid to help, Homer goes to Fat Tony D'Amico - and starts a Mafia war between the factions.

Features: Helen Lovejoy, Mrs Skinner, Luanne van Houten, Ms Krabappel, Maude Flanders, Ned Flanders, Wiggum, Lenny, Mr Burns, Cletus, Bumblebee Man, Principal Skinner, Smithers, Mr Largo, Dr Hibbert, Hans Moleman, Eddie, Lou, Grampa.

Couch: The Simpsons pop up through holes in the sofa and floor, to be hit by a large hammer.

  • The Investorettes, against Marge's wishes, invested in a Mexican wrestler called El Bombastico.
  • At the ball game, Mr Burns wins the 1997 Pontiac Astro Wagon.

Notes: A clever, and rather unusual, idea for an episode that shows a frightening bitchiness beneath the middle-class veneer of smalltown businesswomen.
