Premise: It's Valentine's Day. Out of pity, Lisa sends Ralph Wiggum a Valentine. She'd love to forget him - but he's got tickets for Krusty's 29th anniversary show, and then he's cast as George Washington opposite her Martha in the school's President's Day pageant.

Features: Bill and Marty at KBBL, Grampa, Jasper, Moe, Barney, Ned Flanders, Maud Flanders, Apu, Janey, Miss Hoover, Ralph, Principal Skinner, Milhouse, Lunchlady Doris, Sherri and Terri, Sideshow Mel, Chief Wiggum, Lou and Eddie, Groundskeeper Willie, Rod Flanders, Patty and Selma, Jimbo Jones, Kearney, Dolph.

Couch: The Simpsons rush in - to form part of a high-kicking circus showbiz extravaganza.

Trivia:

  • Bart's such a big Krusty fan he owns the Krusty Home Pregnancy Test.

Homage: Monster Mash by Bobby 'Boris' Pickett and the Crypt-Kickers was a graveyard smash in the late sixties. Itchy and Scratchy's adventure unfolds to an orchestral version of Tony Bennett's Stranger in Paradise. Homer's conscience speaks with the voice of Droopy. The clips from Krusty's 29 years of TV pay homage to seminal moments in the history of American television. Break on Thru (To the Other Side) was the first single released by the Doors in 1966.

Notes for Brits: Oral Roberts is an American televangelist.

Itchy and Scratchy in: My Bloody Valentine.

Songs: Do You Think I'm Cuddly? sung by Ned Flanders to Maud as a Valentine's offering. We are the Mediocre Presidents sung by the boys of Springfield Elementary.

Notes: Things to love about I Love Lisa: Chief Wiggum chasing a duck to get his badge back. Principal Skinner's flashback to Valentine's Day in 'Nam. Bart and Milhouse as John Wilkes Booth and Lincoln. And these are just the icing on the cake of the main plot.
