Dead Putting Society

Flanders vs. Simpson - death by golf.

Episode 7F08
Written by Jeff Martin
Directed by Rich Moore
Also starring: Maggie Roswell

Premise: The friction between neighbours Flanders and Simpson reaches boiling point. So Ned and Homer enter their sons in a miniature golf game. There'll be no loser - but the father of the boy 'that doesn't win' will have to mow the other's lawn, wearing his wife's best Sunday dress.

Features: The Flanders, Rev. Lovejoy, Helen Lovejoy, Ralph, Jimbo Jones, Dolph, Keamey, Krusty, Principal Skinner, Ms Krabappel.

Couch: The Simpsons rush in - followed by Snowball II and Santa's Little Helper.

Trivia:

  • Maud Flanders' nickname for Ned is Spongecake.

Look out for: Maggie's solo exploration of Sir Putt-A-Lot's.

Notes: Apart from the memorable lawn mowing sequence at the end, this episode is notable for our first viewing of the gaudy, gadget-filled, God-fearing splendour that is the Flanderses' home.
