Dana Scully

Dana Scully

Will you put an X in Scully's box when it's time to vote?

A deeply doubtful FBI scientist, Dana Scully found it hard to believe partner Fox Mulder's claims that the truth was out there. Even when it was grey, alien and lying on her autopsy bench.

The vote has now ended.

Q

Martin Eden, former X-Files Magazine Editor, confirms that the only truth out there is a win for Scully.

Dana Scully is the ultimate scientist. She's come face to face with ghosts, werewolves, mutants, killer dolls, murderous tattoos, heck, even the Loch Ness Monster – yet she always maintained a rational mind, contemplating the logical side of things, and ultimately explaining events through science (unlike her FBI partner, Fox Mulder, who comes up with the craziest explanations!).

Not only that, though, this woman has been through an amazing amount of personal problems – and yet she always bounces back and gets on with her scientific work. She has been kidnapped several times, abducted by aliens, she has died and come back to life at least once, she has faced (and defeated) cancer, and she has had to endure the deaths of several friends and family members. Not to mention her decision to give her own son up for adoption.

But perhaps her best achievement as a scientist is to maintain a cool, indifferent attitude to her working colleague, Special Agent Fox Mulder, to whom she is strongly attracted. The couple's chemistry was evident from an early stage, but they fought against it – concentrating on their work – until ultimately they could no longer deny their feelings!

Dana Scully is not just a great scientist, she can handle herself in a fight, she has a great sense of humour (admittedly, it has to be coaxed out sometimes) and, hey, who else would conduct an autopsy and start salivating over the stomach's contents (pizza)? Vote Scully!
