Richard Whiteley dies
Tributes flood in to Countdown host.
Richard Whiteley, the genial host of the cult Channel 4 show, died after undergoing heart surgery.
He'd hosted over 4,000 shows with co-host Carol Vordeman, who is said to be devastated.
Among his fans was the Queen, who was saddened when the show moved timeslot, as 3.15 was apparently when she was giving the corgis a walk.
