Stargate stars speak

Michael Shanks and Chris Judge talk about season eight and beyond.
The Icon Magazine website features a new interview with SG-1's Michael Shanks and Chris Judge, in which they talk about season eight, spin-offs and a certain Vulcan.
Shanks explains that he's delighted with his continued work on the series and is prepared to carry on.
"We really take every year as it comes. I'm certainly enjoying it at this point. So long as you're continuing to tell good stories, and so long as you're happy in your work, then there's no reason that I can think of not to sign on for another year."
But with the show now spawning a sequel is there a danger that the production team are overstretching themselves and may run out ideas?
"Of course, there's always a danger of stretching your resources too thinly," says Shanks, "but I don't think there's a problem in terms of mining stories for the concept. There's still a huge number of stories to be told about that, and a huge number of possibilities that are still out there, which is why we are spinning off."
Judge agrees, "I think the more science fact there is the more Science Fiction there will be because now you have more facts to work with. For example, now that they've found water on Mars, well now they say that if there's water, there's life how many millions of stories have you opened up just by doing that!"
"Or, if things ever go south," he adds. "I'm just going to write a bunch of episodes that just have Jolene Blalock as the star of every one, using different costumes!"
