Comics Festival 2004

The UK's largest comic festival takes place in Bristol this weekend.
This bank holiday weekend will see Bristol play host to a horde of comics fans, artists, writers and editors, at the sixth annual Comics Festival.
Alongside dealers' tables, signing sessions, masterclasses and pitching opportunities, there'll also be events including the Seventh Annual Comics Awards, a Dan Dare art exhibition, charity art auction and comics-themed Weakest Link.
Comic writers attending include Alan Grant (Judge Dredd), Mike Carey (Lucifer, Hellblazer), Jack Lawrence (Darkham Vale), Brian Talbot (Luther Arkwright), Andy Diggle (Dredd, Swamp Thing) and many many more.
The huge crowd of artists at the event includes David Finch (Ultimate X Men), and two artists recently seen on the pages of Cult's own Vampires section: Frazer Irving (The Authority, 2000AD) and Charlie Adlard (Judge Dredd, The X Files).
On top of that, comics supremos including DC's head honchos, and Tharg the Mighty of 2000AD himself will be at the Festival. So, if you're sure your portfolio makes you the next Alan Moore or Dave McKean, here's where to show it off.
The event runs all weekend, at the Empire and Commonwealth Museum, Bristol Temple Meads. For more information, check the Festival's website by clicking the link below.
