What America's watching

We look at the US viewing figures for our favourite shows.

Ever wondered what the US viewing figures were for your fave cult shows? Was Angel underperforming? Is 24 tailing off in its third year? Is Smallville struggling? Is there a case for saying that the audience for Cult shows is dwindling, and the audience for police dramas is growing?

While we were over there, we picked up the viewing figures for Feb 9 – 15th. And here's a list of Cult shows, mixed in with a few other top shows for comparison:

CSI: 30.9
Friends: 25.9
ER: 21.9
American Idol: 21.8
CSI Miami: 21.8
West Wing: 11.3
Will & Grace: 10.8
24: 10.0
Alias: 9.5
Malcolm in the Middle: 7.6
Smallville: 7.4 (two showings)
Sex and the City: 6.1
Tru Calling: 4.3
Enterprise: 3.9
Angel 3.6

In other words, the only "Cult" show in double figures is 24.

More worryingly no cult shows made the list of the top 20 shows watched that week by people aged 18-49. Nor did they feature in the top shows watched by the 50+ audience. Both leagues were dominated by the CSI twins, Survivor, and Friends.
