Wonder Woman

Details about the script and cast for the big screen version of the comic and television series.

Previous reports suggested that the film version of Wonder Woman would remove any mention of her Amazonian princess origins.

Well, the good news is that a new script by Laeta Kalo (the brains behind The WB's short-lived, but well received, Birds of Prey) restores much of what made the series great.

In the original 1976 television pilot Major Steve Trevor crashes near Paradise Island, the secret home of a race of eternally young Amazons. He is rescued by Princess Diana (Lynda Carter) who returns with Trevor to fight the Nazis.

The series that followed moved to the present day and the arrival of Trevor's son on the island. Seeing it as a sign, Diana decides to take up the mantle of Wonder Woman once more.

The latest casting rumour is that Jamie King made such an impression, kicking-ass in Bulletproof Monk that she'll be donning the satin hotpants.

But will she have a lasso of truth and invisible plane?
