Joss Whedon has said to Sci Fi Wire.com that he is close to signing a deal to write and direct a feature film based on his cancelled show Firefly.
"What's happening with that is that I'm writing a script," Whedon said. "And I have some interest. But I won't know really until I finish a draft whether or not it's genuine... We have a pretty decent shot. It's not a crazed pipe dream."
"Well, I can't just keep putting them on Angel," he said in a jovial mood. "So I have to make a Firefly movie so I can hang out with them more. Yes, the deal is contingent upon the cast."
Whedon also revealed that the DVD of the original series will feature all the episodes, including the pilot and the ones not shown in the States.
He added that the extras on the disc will include: "the gag reel, interviews with everybody, commentaries on most of the episodes by cast members and writers and directors and me... It's a huge package. It's b-lls-out deluxe, which I'm really proud of."
