The old foxy one was always joined by a straight man, who he easily
upstaged every week. Surely that can't be good on your CV.
The end of each Basil show consisted of the 'Mr' reading out a nice
bedtime story, which Basil constantly interrupted, some days so
much so that the hounds were set upon him.
Basil made his triumphant return to our screens in 2001.
