mind? Audrey Hepburn with her sunglasses and black dress?
Well if novelist Truman Capote had got his way Marilyn Monroe would
have played the part of Holly Golightly. It was the execs from Paramount
who insisted on Hepburn, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Hepburn was nominated for an Oscar as Holly - a girl living off
the gifts of generous suitors - who falls in love with new neighbour
Paul (played by a pre-A Team George Peppard), a struggling writer
being 'kept' by an older woman.
In the end the only Oscars the movie picked up went
to Henry Mancini for his score and for the song 'Moon River'.
