Lady Penelope speaks

Sophia Myles has been talking to SFX.
"What I've tried to do is not to replicate the original," Lady Penelope actress Sophia Myles tells the mag, "The main change we've made is with the voice. The voice that Sylvia used is a very retro '60s kind of voice, and we're trying to target a 21st century audience."
Interestingly, although Gerry "I've lost all the rights" Anderson wasn't invited to the set, it turns out that ex-wife Sylvia "All the cool stuff" Anderson was, and got on famously with young Myles.
We also learn that since the series, Lady P has given up smoking ("I'm quite glad - I'd have been Fag Ash Lil by the end of it"), and got a hair cut. "There were discussions about going for the '60s bouffant," explains Myles, "On a puppet it's fine, but seeing as I was doing kickboxing in this film, we've made it longer with more movement in it."
Also in this issue, there's the monthly James Marsters interview ("I'm very good," he says), a fascinating look at the history of TV21 Comic, and a Smallville set visit.
