With the departure of John Leslie imminent, Tim Vincent joined the team just in time for Christmas 1993. Fast forward to June 1994 and this time it was Anthea who moved on over to the other side (with her Tracey Island and big alarm clock) to work on GMTV. She was replaced by Saturday Disney host Stuart Miles, who had actually auditioned at the same time as Tim - but who had come a close second.

But the change to three times a week - Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays - was taking its toll on the team, just as moving twice weekly had on Christopher Trace and Valerie Singleton in 1966, and so the search was on for a fourth presenter to help ease the workload.

The production team didn't have to look too far, for working as a secretary to the Head of Childrens' Programmes was Katy Hill. Katy joined the show on 23rd June 1995 and quickly established herself as one of the team.

During the Tim, Stuart, Diane and Katy era Blue Peter went into cyberspace, celebrated Heathrow's fiftieth birthday and travelled to South Africa and Hong Kong and China.
