Joss Biography for 2003

Joss May 2003 will see the release of the first (unauthorised) biography of Joss Whedon.

Penned by US TV columnist Candace Havens, Joss Whedon: The Genius Behind Buffy, explores the Whedon phenomenon via a series of interviews with the man himself and the casts of Buffy, Angel and Firefly.

"Joss has created these wonderful worlds that just blow your mind," said Havens. "We devote a short section in the book to the set visits and you get to see the whole thing through my eyes. I'm supposed to be this jaded critic, but when I walked into Buffy's bedroom and sat on the bed I wanted to scream, 'Oh My God! I'm sitting on Buffy's bed!' I know it's silly but it was just an overwhelming feeling."

"I also had a chance to talk with just about every cast member from his shows," Havens added. "And they each gave their own perspective on their characters and Joss' work. I also loved talking with Joss's teacher at Wesleyan. She's a wonderful woman and gave me such insight into Joss's passion for his work. I could have talked with her for days."
