After much speculation as to whether Amber Benson would return to Buffy in a form other than Tara, it's been confirmed that she is moving on to other things.

"She's very proud of her work on the show, but ultimately, we couldn't work out the right deal," announced Amber's representative.

"It was a question of negotiations, as it sometimes is," Joss told TV Guide Online. "It's sad, because I love Amber. But that's between her and Fox."

Amber is currently exploring the possibility of a general release for her indie film Chance. A special UK screening is also being investigated.

Following the success of their second Willow and Tara comic series, future writing projects with author Chris Golden seem likely too.
