Mart cuts the chit-chat

Marti Noxon Buffy Executive Producer Marti Noxon has been outlining her plans to juggle season seven, motherhood and office nattering, plus revealing her biggest challenge this year:

"Probably keeping Joss from exploding," she laughs in an interview with Sci-Fi.com. "Keeping the head from exploding. If there's anything I can do to help with that, I will."

"I think the biggest challenge is going to be keeping all balls in the air, even though my responsibility is really about Buffy... We're going to have to really get economical. The whole thing is going to be about economy and just speaking personally, I going to be trying to work more efficiently in fewer hours so that I can go be a good mom."

Part of the writing staff's daily routing may have to be ditched too - even if many of Buffy's coolest ideas may stem from it. "I think we're just going to have to stop talking about the movies we saw and what we did over the weekend for three or four hours every day," said Marti. "I think we're just going to have to stop making dumb jokes about '70s TV shows.

It's really bad, but we're going to have to give up the chit-chat this year. And that is part of the creative process, the kind of time you spend getting to the idea. And this year we're not going to have that time. It's going to be about, "Be smart, now!" [laughs]"
