Buffy News    30 September 2002
Emma's five year itch

Anya Emma Caulfield has been discussing her plans to leave Buffy at the end of this year with Fangoria magazine.

"My contract is up at the end of the season, and it’s time for me to go," she told the mag. "I’m not coming back. I want to do other things with my career. How’d you like to do the same thing every day for five years?"

The actress feels confident that the show can survive the loss of any of its cast, however. "Joss realizes that Buffy is bigger than one person," she said. "There is a very talented group of performers here that can continue carrying the show if anyone leaves."

Emma's new film, The Tooth Fairy, has been renamed Darkness Falls and will premiere in America on January 31st 2003.

"If [it's] a hit, which everyone feels it will be, they are already talking about doing a trilogy," Caulfield revealed. "But you have to see the movie to find out if my character survives."
