The Crown Prosecution Service is responsible for prosecuting criminal cases investigated by the police in England and Wales. Its purpose is to ensure at wrongdoers are brought to justice, victims of crime are supported and that people feel safer in their communities.The CPS has headquarters in London and York and operates under a structure of 42 areas in England and Wales.

This is the national charity helping people affected by crime. You can contact it even if you haven't reported the crime to the police. The charity can provide someone to talk to, as well as information on police and court procedures, and how to apply for compensation. It also runs a Witness Service, offering support for before, during and after a trial.
