Lucy Hargreaves was a young mother of three from the Walton area of Liverpool. In the early hours of Wednesday 3 August 2005, she was shot dead in her home on Lambourne Road. Her house was then set on fire, forcing Lucy's partner and toddler to escape. The other children had been staying with their grandparents.
Lucy was a completely innocent victim, but police believe the attack was targeted at the home she shared with her partner. The likely motive was an attempted revenge attack aimed at Lucy's former partner.
Police are appealing for members of the community who have crucial information about the identity of the attackers to come forward. The passage of time often means that loyalties change but their information remains crucial.
In particular, we are appealing for the whereabouts of Kevin Parle, thought to be key to the investigation. Parle is also wanted for the murder of 16-year-old Liam Kelly in 2004. Parle is known to have been living in Spain but he may have moved to America.
There's a £10,000 reward for an arrest and conviction.
