Archive BBC images for download

Pink and PerkyThe BBC has made over 450 stills from its image archive available for non-commercial use. The images have been released as part of a "Create Your Own Exhibition" competition.

Launched by the BBC's collective website in conjunction with The Photographers' Gallery in London, the competition offers a unique opportunity for users to dream up a theme and illustrate it with ten images from the BBC archive.

The images that people can choose from, and download, include a varied selection ranging from behind the scenes during the BBC's early years, cutting edge CGI natural history, well known faces and eerily deserted sets.

The main prize is Associate Membership to The Photographers' Gallery entitling the winner to UK wide benefits as well as invitations to special events, and runners up get a beautiful photography book.

There’s more about the competition, which closes on 20th November, on collective's website.
