The BBC, bfi, Channel 4 and Open University were the founder members of the Creative Archive Licence Group in April 2005. The objective was to make their content available for download under the terms of the Creative Archive Licence, a single, shared user licence scheme for the downloading of moving images, audio and stills.
Other major national collections, broadcasters, and commercial organisations wanting to share content with the public on the same terms have subsequently joined.
Current membership of the Creative Archive Licence Group is:
