 | | The stars of Phoenix Nights – apart from Peter Kay – are coming to Coventry in the autumn on the shamelessly titled Jumping on the Bandwagon tour.
Patrick McGuinness, Steve Edge, Janice Connolly and Archie Kelly, aka Paddy, Alan, Holy Mary and the blissful Kenny Senior, will be at Warwick Arts Centre on 3 November for a night of hilarious stand-up comedy that has little to do with the greatest sitcom of all time.
The four freely admit that tagging Phoenix Nights to the billboard posters is merely a brazen bid to attract fans of the series that may not recognise the names of the stars, a ploy that’s worked judging by the string of sell-out crowds.

Kelly, Connolly and Edge are all stand-ups of renown in their own right and all three get the chance to showcase their solo acts with McGuiness acting as compere.
However, the fans want to see the team together on stage and they oblige with ensembles pieces that reportedly include a rousing chorus at the end!
Archie Kelly is set to reprise his renowned character Jackie Valencio, an old style entertainer known in his heyday as Mr Goodtime but now reduced to telling tall showbiz tales.
Echoes, then, of his Walter Mitty-like Kenny in Phoenix Nights (“I've got special skin – asbestos…doctors are baffled!”) but instead of random lies, Valencio’s are about the likes of Ronan Keating and Mick Hucknall and include some musical interludes along the way,.

Holy Mary becomes housewife Barbara Nice, a middle-aged lady who likes nothing better than pound shops and stage diving. Just like my Mum and a million others then!
Steve Edge, meanwhile, is just himself – a lovable Brummie who likes nothing more than to share his tales. Similarly, Paddy McGuinness is just Paddy McGuinness and although he’s not a stand up, his personality is sure to keep things bowling along.
Catch the Phoenix Nights Jumping on the Bandwagon tour at Warwick Arts Centre on Wednesday, 3 November. For ticket details, see the website or call 024 7652 4524.
