Daniel Kitson is plainly hilarious. That is to say, he's very plain and very funny. His dogged appearance was one of his many comedic strong points, in fact, as being 25 but looking remarkably like a small Jim Royale is very funny in itself.
He just finds things funny, in a pure delight-in-life, five-year-old kind of a way.

Daniel is certainly gifted at making the most out of his weaknesses. His lisp and stammer, which may well have been obstacles in his strangely masochistic choice of career, are top of the comedy material list.
Except that Daniel's humour isn't so much about laughing at things, as about letting you in on the joke. He doesn't make you laugh at people or situations out of sympathy or spite, but because he has a real talent for finding humour in everything.
He just finds things funny, in a pure delight-in-life, five-year-old kind of a way. And he has the talent of being able to articulate and share that humour with an audience.

He was never funnier than when he indulged his child-like outlook with tales of playground games. As he kept making himself laugh, sniggering and giggling, I couldn't help but get swept-along. It's really funny watching someone surprise themselves and make themselves laugh with a new funny thought.
With the uncluttered directness of a naïve child, he described games, rules and ideas with a great eye for the ridiculous.
Genius is rather too strong a word for a funny kid with a big beard, but he is so unique and gifted that he's frighteningly close.

I really thought Daniel was brilliant. He had an unscripted freshness and a striking tone of honesty that made the night feel like a very funny conversation, rather than a well-crafted comedy routine.
You have to go and see this man live to experience the joy of being in a room with someone that close to genius.
Genius is rather too strong a word for a funny kid with a big beard, but he is so unique and gifted that he's frighteningly close.
I wouldn't recommend you see Daniel Kitson if you wear too much mascara or have incontinence problems. You will be crying with laughter, and worse...
