The Nuneaton Carnival Queen for 2002 - 2003 is Frances Tomkinson. She took over from last year's queen, Clare Brewin.

Frances received flowers and her trophy from Deputy Mayor, Councillor Geoff Ashford at Bedworth Civic Hall on 3 May 2002.

Celebrity guest

The celebrity guest is going to be Vicki Michelle, known best for her performance as the sexy bar maid in 'Allo 'Allo.

She will be saying bonjoir to the crowds in an open top car following the Lord Mayor's car at the front of the procession.

The theme for this year's Nuneaton carnival is 'Down Memory Lane'.

Queens, maids of honour, princes and princesses have been invited. They have all decorated their own towing vehicles, so it should be a vibrant and colourful carnival day.

There will also be hundreds of walking entries and marching bands.

The visiting carnival courts can win one of the following trophies:

The Asda trophy
The David Devall trophy
The Jonathan's Firework's trophy.

Events

The arena events start at 1.30pm. There will be a motorcycle display team, a dog training display team, Warwickshire fire and rescue team with a fire demonstration, escapologists, knife throwers, hot air balloon rides, craft marquee.

The Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council marquee parachutist landing at the site at 4.30pm, stalls, shire horses, marching bands, a giant funfair, a Victorian street organ, dancing displays and lots more.
