The beautiful old buildings of his home town of Leamington are favourite subjects, which he has painted extensively in watercolour and acrylic.
David has also painted commissions for village churches and houses in the Cotswolds as well as our local towns.

A passion for clutter

David Lewis’ paintings are always coloured with passion, as he explains:
“I am fascinated by the architectural detail that surrounds us from the past, the almost lost craftsmanship in stone and brick, the clutter and wire infested streets of medieval European towns.”
David is drawn to historic buildings and tranquil villages. Seeing his portfolio, you can't help but think his painting research trips must be a pleasure!

Some of David’s paintings also show a very modern interest in the abstract shapes of contemporary buildings, like the glasshouse in Jephson Gardens.
