It's been four months since we visited the BBC WM garden in Stratford and a lot's been happening.

The garden may have slowed its growth during the winter seasons but now spring has sprung, it's time to get busy and expert Steve Brookes shared some top tips with us.

Bob Brolly, and accomplices Fran and Wee Anne, also heralded the end of winter with song, football - and ice cream!

A day of music, fun and compost

One of the themes for the spring gardening show was planting and we planted one of the most important things we've ever had on the show.

Bob and Steve joined Coventry City groundsman Michael to help plant the first piece of turf that will become the new pitch at Highfield Road.

Next season will be the last at Highfield Road before the club moves to its new stadium, so it's especially important the turf is spot on as it will be a real season to remember.

Bob also invited some musical guests into the garden to give the plants a boost with some songs.

Top Canadian/Irish singer John McDermott dropped in to share a tune - and proved especially popular with listeners.

John joined forces with resident musicians, the brilliant Smith Street, for one of the best sing-a-longs we've ever had.

The perfect hanging basket

A spring gardening show provided a great opportunity for Steve to show us how to go about creating the perfect hanging basket.

They're not that difficult to create but it's quite easy to get things wrong and ending up with a basket of dried out scrub instead of a magnificent floral display.

We'll be back in the Stratford garden in the summer to see how things have moved on. Remember to tune in and come back to the website for our picture gallery.
