Meet Sarah Bygrave
Find out more about Sarah, BBC Coventry & Warwickshire's Blast music reporter for 2009.
Born and Bred:
I was born and raised in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. I then headed to the Midlands to study at Coventry University a few days after I turned 18.
I am currently studying media production at Coventry University and I am about to enter my final year!
Also, I am lucky enough to be BBC Coventry & Warwickshire’s brand new Blast Music reporter! This means I will be reporting on the local music scene, interviewing the best artists and letting everyone know what’s going on in the area.
After I graduate I want to pursue and develop my career in the media. Radio is my main passion, particularly music shows and comedy radio. I would love to work for the BBC in the future as I love so much of their content!
Being a Blast music reporter will mean I get to see how my favourite shows are produced and I will get to discover lots of new amazing music, which is very relevant to my aspirations.
Without a doubt, my best moment has to be getting the job as a Blast music reporter. When I got the news I didn’t believe it, I just kept saying "‘really? Thank you, really? Thank you." It still hasn’t sunk in!
Myself and a friend wrote and produced a twenty minute comedy radio show called Cloud9.fm for a University project, and I was the host, Claire Voyant.
Music, music and more music! I absolutely love going to gigs and finding remixes of my favourite songs. I also love going to the theatre, reading and art, so anything creative!
I love all types of comedy, especially the British sense of humour. You can’t beat a bit of Only Fools and Horses on a Sunday afternoon if you ask me!
Untidiness, rudeness and how clumsy I am!
More About Me:
I love to laugh and I am always up for meeting new people, but I also love to be focused. I like having discussions with people about different topics and generally absorbing the media in all its forms. I like to keep busy and motivated and I hate wasting the day.
I’m a huge Eastenders fan and I am not ashamed to admit that! I love all types of music and I always have the radio on in my house, always.
My role as BBC Blast music reporter is really suited to me and my interests. This is a brilliant opportunity and I know I will love every second of it as it is a big mix of all my passions!
Please get in touch with me if you have a story or details of a music event in Coventry and Warwickshire.
