Find out more... Zoe’s Place is a hospice for babies and children up to 7-years of age and is a place where those with a terminal or life limiting disease can feel at home. There are already hospices in Liverpool and Middlesbrough – so this will be the only one in the midlands. The hospice is being built in the grounds of Exhall Grange School in Ash Green, Coventry – a school which already caters for children with special needs. The new building will take around 12 months to build, but they hope that it will be complete by July 2010. It will cater for six babies at any one time and will provide play and sensory areas, bedrooms and also space for parents to stay. Sarah Falkland met up with the parents of 3-year-old Noah, who suffers from Edwards Syndrome and was born with a hole in his heart, which means he will never walk of talk. He needs a constant supply of oxygen and has to be fed through a tube. They live in Rugby and currently have to travel to Birmingham for respite care and they are devoted to looking after Noah 24-hours a day. But with the new hospice being built in nearby Coventry, it may make taking a short break easier.
