Forget your bowls of cereal, tea and toast, and even the classic full-English breakfast - How about eating breakfast Victorian style? Our mid and south Warwickshire correspondent Moira Rawlings went to Warwick Castle to preview their Victorian breakfast banquet. The 12-course Victorian breakfast will be held at Warwick Castle on Saturday, 14 December at 9am and will be held in the Banqueting Suite. As Moira discovered, the feast includes Scotch Woodcock - which is scrambled eggs made with egg yolks and cream spread on toast with anchovy paste - haddock in puff pastry and the Victorian favourite - jelly. The jelly would usually be a centre piece and the guests would often be amused at the way it would wobble throughout the meal! ![]() Haddock in puff pastry anyone? All of the food would be washed down with lashings of red wine - and of course, Moira sampled that as well.
