Meet Hannah Tobin

Find out more about Hannah Tobin from the web team at BBC Coventry & Warwickshire.

Q:  What's your name?

A:  Hannah Tobin

Q:  From?

A:  Coventry

Q:  Star Sign?

A:  Sagittarius

Q:  Joined the Beeb in?

A:  2006 as a volunteer

Q:  What has your career involved so far?

A:  Running a children’s Saturday morning IT class while at 6th Form College and University. Working in the IT section at NFU, Stratford for just over a month. I then became a CSV Action volunteer at BBC Coventry & Warwickshire before becoming a casual Open Centre guide.

Q:  What does your job involve?

A:  I update our BBC Local website – whether it’s photos or features – and sorting through our many emails. I also help my colleague on the website, Martin Winch, produce BBC Coventry & Warwickshire Introducing. As well as booking guests, I compile and narrate the gig guide! You may also find me behind the desk in the Open Centre, so a bit of everything really.

Q:  What do you like the most about BBC Coventry & Warwickshire?

A:  Everyone’s really friendly and we’re based in a great building. I also like going on outside broadcasts with Colin The Woodpecker and Wedge!

Q:  What's your favourite place in Coventry and Warwickshire?

A: I like the countryside of south Warwickshire and visiting its towns and villages. Coventry Cathedral is also pretty special – especially the two oak trees, which were planted by Yoko Ono. It’s nice working nearby, so I can follow their progress.

Q:  Who's your favourite person?

A:   Apart from my family.... John Lennon and George Harrison.

Q:  What's your favourite hobby?

A:  Going to concerts and gigs. I play the piano, accordion and guitar (yes, but not at the same time). Watching Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson in Bottom is another regular hobby.

Q:  Your favourite food?

A:  Chinese takeaway or a Sunday dinner.

Q:  Your favourite drink?

A:  Tea.

Q:  Favourite song?

A:  Probably anything off Abbey Road by The Beatles. I love The Beatles and 60’s music and have been lucky enough to see many of my favourite bands live – including Paul McCartney and Brian Wilson. I also like Kaiser Chiefs and The Mavericks.

Q:  Favourite film?

A:  Back To The Future

Q:  Give us a fascinating fact about yourself:

A:  I once made a charity record with Boy George at Abbey Road Studios – along with 99 other people.
