Harjeet  Chakira is a passionate campaigner for women’s rights, even travelling from Coventry to India to increase awareness.

A postgraduate in Clinical Criminology from the University of Leicester, she works in the field of domestic violence with Asian women and children.

She was concerned with the reported high percentage of women living in India who have experienced domestic violence and decided to do something about it.  Travelling with a friend for almost a month, she visited many young women in community groups in Delhi and surrounding rural villages to highlight the issue of domestic violence.

In this video, filmed by her travelling companion Atousa Goudarzi, we see some of the workshops and go on a journey of discovery alongside Harjeet.
