The acoustic music scene in Coventry and Warwickshire is undergoing a renaissance. There are a selection of great venues in the region and a cornucopia of acoustic talent ready to take the stage. At the forefront of the Coventry acoustic scene is Lewis Garland. Hailing from Norfolk, he's now become a fixture on the Coventry acoustic/folk scene, playing a steady schedule of gigs in and around the city and beyond. Political songs and personal emotion Lewis started playing guitar at the age of 13 and cites Billy Bragg as one of his major influences, after attending a concert by the Bard of Barking when he was just 18: "I saw him and he just made me feel so passionate about politics in music" Some of that political songwriting style has rubbed off on Lewis Garland's own work, as he concentrates on writing meaningful lyrics and what he describes as: "A mix between political songs and personal emotions." Lewis Garland appeared on Anita Miah's Evening Show on BBC Coventry & Warwickshire. In the interview, Lewis talks about: - Being inspired
- Early musical beginning and teenage angst
- The importance of lyrics
- The next step in his music career
